Fundraising

Each year, the Child Brain Injury Trust provides information and support to thousands of people affected by childhood acquired brain injury. Fundraising is a really important part of what we do as without the support of companies and individuals, the Child Brain Injury Trust would not exist.

There are many things that you can do as a company or an individual to raise funds to help us. From taking a place in a sponsored run to starting a sponsored slim, every penny that you raise makes a difference. If your school or club would like to hold a fundraising event for the Child Brain Injury Trust, there are many activities that will help you to raise money whilst having fun at the same time!

Challenge 21

To help us celebrate 21 years of supporting families affected by childhood acquired brain injury we are hoping to encourage people of all ages and abilities to get involved in helping us raise an astonishing £210,000 during 2012.

Wouldn’t it be great to be part of a brilliant campaign that raises money but is also about celebrating achievement and having fun at the same time?

All you need to do is come up with an idea that involves the number 21 and then raise money through sponsorship and donations for the Child Brain Injury Trust.

The Child Brain Injury Trust was established by a group of health professionals in 1991 to research and provide information regarding the effects of 'traumatic' injury on a child's developing brain. Parents of children with acquired brain injury were keen to become actively involved with the charity and over time the emphasis on the work changed.

Today the Child Brain Injury Trust is the leading voluntary sector organisation (registered charity and company limited by guarantee) providing non-medical services to families affected by childhood acquired brain injury across the UK.

The difference your donation can make:

£10 buys a copy of the DVD ‘Must Try Harder’. This DVD plays a vital role in helping a child’s teacher to understand the impact of an ABI in the classroom

£100 funds one grant in our ‘Give a Child a Chance’ programme. This money helps a child with an acquired brain injury and their brothers and sisters to enjoy life and have fun!

£1000 helps our Child & Family Support teams across the UK to offer direct support to 5 families at a time when they need it most

£10,000 would fund the Child Brain Injury Trust Helpline for a whole 6 months. Offering 24 hour support to anyone affected by childhood acquired brain injury.

Just 5% of the money we need to raise comes from the Government. We have to raise the rest of the money ourselves and it costs around half a million pounds a year to provide our vital services to families when a child or young person’s brain is suddenly injured. The money you raise can have a big impact on a child or young person with an acquired brain injury. Alternatively, if you would like to make a donation to our charity, you can do so using your credit/debit card through our Virgin Money Giving page.
